The first Moomin book, Småtrollen och den stora översvämningen (The Moomins and the Great Flood), was published in 1945. The Moomins weren't a success story immediately and the success of the Moomins went up and down for decades depending on a product, time and a country. It is needless to say that the story of the Moomins has been an interesting one.
